Annual golf tournament to return to the Rio Hondo Golf & Country Club.
Some workdays are just better than others! For those representing their companies at our upcoming 16th Annual Commerce Industrial Council - Chamber of Commerce’s Golf Tournament, Monday, July 14th, at the Rio Hondo Golf & Country Club in Downey will once again, undoubtedly stand out as one of the best days of the year! Last year’s debut at this new location and new start time for the tournament was a hit with players.
The event will be hosted at the Rio Hondo Golf Club with a shotgun start time of 12:00 PM (noon). We are looking forward to hosting another exciting tournament and are offering plentiful opportunities for you to participate as a major sponsor at our golf tournament. ABOUT THE RIO HONDO GOLF CLUB
With over 80,000 rounds of golf played annually, this course is owned and operated by the City of Downey. In 1994, the city invested over $5 million dollars to completely renovate the 18-hole course’s design. This once flat course now has large mounds and moguls coming into play on every hole. Four new lakes have been added to the design and come into play on seven holes. All the narrow fairways are lined by large mature pine trees and bordered by a standard cut of rough. The greens have been completely redesigned with large, slightly undulating greens that are soft enough to hold your shots.
