HELPING LOCAL BUSINESSES “MAKE IT GREAT IN 2008”
Not everyone is taking the tidal wave of economic and financial bad news lying down. Beginning in January, the Commerce Industrial Council and the City of Commerce teamed up with Creative Business Strategies, Inc. (CBS), a La Canada-based consulting firm specializing in entrepreneurs. Together they launched their 2008 campaign to assist business owners and entrepreneurs to brace themselves for the rigors of a threatening economy.
Since then, popular speaker, author and CEO of CBS, David Sanders, has presented the “Make It Great in 2008” seminar for Chambers of Commerce spanning from deep in the San Gabriel Valley to the northern end of the Long Beach Harbor Corridor. In fact, to date, Chamber members in Commerce, Monterey Park, Rosemead, El Monte, Bell Gardens, and Norwalk have all hosted the “Make It Great in 2008” seminar. Huntington Park is soon to be added to the list. Chambers in Montebello, Commerce and Bell Gardens have also offered “Marketing Strategies that Work.”
Beginning in May of this year, two new seminars will be debuted, “Productivity and Time Management” and “Sales, the Secret of Success,” each one adding to the potent arsenal local businesses can use to fight a down-trending economy.
A key factor in getting local entrepreneurs trained in how to survive and achieve their goals in today’s economy has been local Chambers partnering with Creative Business Strategies. El Monte/South El Monte Chamber Executive Director, Dick Nichols, who has incorporated the seminars into programming for his organization’s membership, said, “It’s going to be a good year. We are looking forward to doing our part to make it a good year.” Nichols saw the value of helping businesses establish their goals and lay out realistic plans to achieve them. Central San Gabriel Valley WorkSource Center sponsored the March event. Nichols will offer the “Marketing Strategies that Work.” seminar in May.
Creative Business Strategies, Inc. (CBS) began offering business seminars to Los Angeles County Chamber members and city business development centers in the summer of 2007. As word of mouth has spread, the seminars are now being picked up by other city departments, such as the robust program offered by the City of Riverside, and entrepreneurial organizations, such as CHARO SBA Women’s Center.
Sanders and CBS President, Xavier Jarquin, are committed to bringing highly workable strategies to local businesses. Sanders, former Marketing Director of a top Beverly Hills ad agency, has personally worked with more than 300 professions and industries. Jarquin, who hails from Nicaragua, brings an international business background and 30 years high-level management experience to the firm.
“Mr. Sanders’ purpose in doing these seminars is to help business owners achieve their goals, despite today’s uncertain economy,” says Jarquin. “CBS is dedicated to backing up LA County’s key business organizations in accomplishing their mandate to foster business growth in their communities in 2008, regardless of what the rest of the economy is doing. We all believe something can be done about it.”
Other seminars offered by CBS to Chambers and other business organizations include “How to Get & Keep Good Employees” “More Profits, Less Stress” and “Achieving Your Goals.” For more information on “Make It Great in 2008” and other seminars featuring David Sanders, visit http://www.creativestrats.com
