“Pirate’s Secret Treasure!”

An ultimate pirate adventure!

Presented annually by the Commerce Industrial Council Chamber of Commerce.

For those landlubbers that were unable to join us, you definitely missed out on a great event.  The pirates of this caribbean promised excitement and they delivered for the second year in a row!

The Commerce Industrial Council’s Annual $10,000 Fall Jackpot Drawing is one of the most popular and well-attended events around.

The Chamber wishes to extended its sincere appreciation to everyone that purchased a ticket, sold tickets on our behalf, and participated in our event.  We couldn’t go without saying that we especially appreciate all of this year’s door prize donors.  We truly appreciate your cooperation, participation, and enthusiasm.  You all contributed to its success!

In all, 225 out of 250 total Jackpot Tickets were sold.  Thank you, again, to everyone that purchased a ticket(s).

We proudly commend and thank Stevens Steak & Seafood House for bringing to life their restaurant, for the delicious food they served, and for setting the ambience for our event.  Everyone agreed that the room looked fabulous!  If you get a chance, please visit the World Famous Steven’s Steak & Seafood House in Commerce for lunch, dinner, or call them to arrange a business banquet party.  The holiday’s are around the corner!  Tell’em we sent ya.

We would like to congratulate all of this year’s winners and Ray Teare (pictured below) for being this year’s Grand Prize Winner of$10,000!

ABOUT THE ANNUAL FALL JACKPOT DRAWING

The Annual Fall Jackpot Drawing, which is presented annually by the Commerce Industrial Council Chamber of Commerce, is a chamber mixer event hosted at Stevens Steak and Seafood House every November, and is coordinated as a jackpot drawing for a chance at $10,000, with additional cash prizes and door prizes.

Here’s how it’s done.

Official jackpot tickets are sold by chamber-authorized sellers and at the chamber at the start of every summer and at our Annual Golf Tournament in July.  Only 250 numbered tickets are sold and individuals, entities, and/or groups may purchase a ticket(s) in order to participate in the event, whose theme is “Pirate’s Secret Treasure.”  A Chamber Ambassador serves as the event chairperson, with oversight conducted by the chamber staff.

Official tickets are on sale leading up to the event, and at the event until the first one is drawn.  Some time after the mixer begins, sales of the jackpot tickets are brought to an end and the tickets are assembled in numerical order by the chamber staff for an official reading of the ticket name and corresponding number in the clear presence of the audience.  Soon after, the first ticket is drawn, which is the eventual $10,000 Grand Prize winner, and no one person is allowed to see that ticket, which is placed into an envelope immediately, sealed, and posted on the Chamber’s official Winner’s Board.  That person, entity, or group’s name is not revealed or announced until the rest of the tickets have been drawn for all of the cash and raffle prizes.  Ticket holders need not be present to win, and all winnings over $600 are reported to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Proceeds from the Annual Fall Jackpot make it possible for the Chamber to provide “The Progressive Voice for Business.”  The Chamber empowers businesses with community and government advocacy, human resource and economic development, and a multitude of relevant business services.  We work hard to provide the right tools for economic success.

The annual drawing has plenty of additional cash and fabulous door prizes besides the $10,000.  The event also features second and third prizes—a digital camera and a widescreen HDTV flat-screen television, respectively.

Opportunities to win great prizes at the event play a major role in its popularity.  These prizes are generously donated by individuals and businesses to ensure a successful event.

You could be our 2009 winner!?  Be sure to get your ticket(s) early next year beginning July 2009!

And finally me hearty, did any of you lily-livered, scallywags lose yer patch?

Shiver me timbers!  This one be bloody obvious…walk the plank!
